I didn't want the hassle of finding a buyer for my '93 TT considering the condition it was in so I decided to take the hit and trade it in. KBB trade in value was around $4000. Considering mine was leaking coolant, oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid, clutch fluid, had a bad TPS, no boost, a tits-up detonation sensor, body damage and 170k miles I went in praying that they'd offer me at least $2000. I was looking for an Xterra and the first lot I found offered me $1200 for the Z. I desperately wanted to rid myself of that steaming pile of dung but I wasn't that desperate. A few attempts later I found a generous dealer that gave me $3500 for it and I was happy. The reason could be that the only person there to assess the car was the finance chick and it was raining cats and dogs that day. As long as I've been on the forum I've never heard much discussion about trade-in values so that was my story for posterities sake :)
I've spent most of my money on Z cars, drinking, and women... the rest I just wasted.
